Professor Jon Yngve Hardeberg
Jon Yngve Hardeberg is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the Head of the Norwegian Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory. His research deeply integrates signal processing, imaging science, and computational color science, focusing on frontier issues in digital imaging, color reproduction, and the digitization of cultural heritage.
As a principal investigator, he has led numerous major research projects funded by the EU and the Norwegian government, publishing over 200 academic papers. He serves as an Associate Editor for several authoritative international journals, including the Journal of Imaging Science and Technology.
Professor Hardeberg holds several prominent professional roles, including the Norwegian representative for Division 8 (Image Technology) of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), a Management Committee member for the COST Action TD1201 "Colour and Space in Cultural Heritage," and a board member of the Norwegian Society for Image Processing and Pattern Recognition. Additionally, he serves on the organizing committees for two Erasmus Mundus Master’s programs: "Color in Informatics and Media Technology" (CIMET) and "Color in Science and Industry" (COSI).
